2018 Summer Kids Movies to Keep Them Entertained
When you and your kids need a break from the heat, the movie theater is an excellent activity to have fun and keep cool. Fortunately, 2018 has some awesome summer movies in store for kids. Here’s our picks for the best summer kids movies to check out when you're ready to relax in the AC and enjoy a great family film.
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (July 13)
When it comes to summer kids movies this year, it's all about the sequels (and three-quels). Adam Sandler returns to portray Dracula as a protective family man whose daughter Mavis has married a human. In this wacky installment, Mavis surprises the family with a vacation on a luxury monster cruise ship. Hotel Transylvania 3 is rated PG for some action and potty humor.
Mamma Mia! (July 20)
Your favorite musical crew, including Meryl Streep, Liliy James, Amanda Seyfried, and now Cher, is back for some more fun ten lears later, after the 2008 film debut. Sohpie is now pregnant and running her mother’s villa. Afraid she can’t run the show by herself without her mother around, Sophie will find out more about Donna’s past and how she lead The Dynamos, started her villa on the Greek island, met each one of Sohpie’s dads, and raised a daughter on her own. Sophie also receives an unexpected visit from someone she’s never met. Bring the whole family to sing along to this romantic comedy this July!
Teen Titans Go! to the Movies (July 27)
This feature film spin-off of the popular cartoon series is aimed at DC superhero fans who are too young for the more serious (and violent) action films. Like the TV show, the movie will follow the adventures of five minor sidekicks in the DC universe as they get into hijinks and enjoy crazy adventures. Teen Titans Go! to the Movies is rated PG, so expect cartoonish violence and some rude jokes.
Christopher Robin (August 3)
This charming sequel to the classic Winnie the Pooh story is part live action and part animated as the whimsical world of author A.A. Milne comes to life. Ewan McGregor plays a grown-up version of the title character, who must return to the Hundred Acre Woods to help Pooh find his lost friends. Christopher Robin is rated PG and contains some adult themes and war images.
